B.K Chaitra, a girl in Grade 10, wants to become a physician but her father does not have sufficient money to educate her. A very active child in school, Chaitra lives in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, India and has been receiving the scholarship by SAC since 2009.

She has good command over languages be it English, Hindi or Kannada. She says that she goes to school not just for the academic education but to learn discipline and to participate in social and cultural activities. She loves drawing and also practices Yoga in her free time. Apart from studying, Chaitra also helps her mother, Sonu, a housewife in household work and plays with her two brothers and her sister.

Chaitra’s father Babu Rao works in a private company. It difficult for him to take care of the education of all four children. The parents are very positive about Chaitra’s future and have high hopes that she will become a great person one day in life.

Someone has truly said, educate a man, you educate a person. Educate a woman and you educate a family !!! Chaitra’s family will indeed not face much problem once she becomes doctor.
