In the year 2011, a three-storey home for girl children was inaugurated under the aegis of the Seva Bharati - South Tamil Nadu, a non-governmental organisation. The orphanage christened Sri Guruji Anbu Illam. The home provides shelter for children orphaned by the tsunami and also the orphaned children found in nearby villages of Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu.

The hostel has around 30 children from class 4 to under graduation. The school students go to the nearby government school.
